SJESP Smart Energy Partners Program

Warmer weather and springtime most likely doesn’t invoke thoughts about heater replacement. However, there are a number of reasons why this time of year may actually be the best time to think about upgrading your heating system. The heating experts at South Jersey Energy Service Plus (SJESP) can help you determine whether furnace or boiler replacement is the right solution for your home, and provide you with expert installation.

The spring offers time to consider all the available options at your convenience. Normally during this period demand is low, and manufacturers do offer rebates to increase volume for a wider selection of units. Conversely, if you put off replacing a heater until it unexpectedly fails during the coming winter, you’ll probably be under pressure to make a snap decision. That’s never the best time to shop.

“Heater life expectancy varies according to how well the unit has been maintained and the average annual days of operation over several years,” said Robert Young SJESP General Manager, Energy Services. “As that time goes by, heating performance can decline, and your unit’s energy efficiency may no longer meet current standards, causing higher monthly bills. Increasing wear and tear often forces decisions about whether to invest more money in expensive repairs or upgrade now to a new, more reliable and efficient unit.”

“Older homes may have an oil-burning, propane, or electric heating system which are becoming increasingly more expensive to operate,” Young continued. “Additionally, homes heated by older gas systems performing inefficiently may be sending as much as .20 or .30 cents of every dollar up the flue pipe. An energy-efficient all-electric furnace has no flue loss through a chimney, but typically the cost of electric is higher than gas.”

If you are a current gas customer looking to upgrade to a high-efficiency system, or if you are considering converting to natural gas, we can make the transition simple and seamless. As an authorized contractor for the South Jersey Gas (SJG) Smart Energy Partners Program, we can implement solutions that keep you warm and comfortable, while saving money and reducing your carbon footprint.

Through the program, SJG customers can choose one of two options for eligible heating and water heating equipment upgrades. This includes either a 0% interest, 84-month loan of up to $11,000; or a rebate of $500 for a qualified furnace or boiler, or $600 with a qualifying water heater. These rebates can also be stacked on top of state rebates available through New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program of up to $700, as well as any rebate from the manufacture which may be offered.

South Jersey Energy Service Plus installs and services all major brands. Their experienced HVAC professionals will provide you with an in-home estimate, recommend and install the appropriate furnace or boiler for your needs, and coordinate any required municipal permits and follow-up inspections, ensuring your system meets all current building codes.

“You can always count on us to provide honest advice, quality workmanship, and fair pricing with no hidden fees because we are focused on building lasting relationships. In addition, all work is performed by SJESP expert technicians, no subcontractors.
